You may have noticed I made reference to Fair Trade and Ethically Sourced products on my ABOUT US page at The Worry Doll Shop.
So What Does Fair Trade Actually Mean.
Put simply it means fair treatment or fair working conditions for farmers, artisians or workers. Fair wages and or fair pay for products or goods.
We are proud to let you know all our Worry Dolls are sourced from a family owned business in Guatemala established in the 1950s, they are ethically produced by the family who own the business, no child labour is used, and they practice fair trade. The money goes to directly to the family and provides income to the family and villagers in Guatemala.
I have established a relationship with the family over 9 months of communicating, exchanging photos and information so both parties are familiar and happy with agreements. we have built a rapport and the family share information with me such as the long journey they make to the city to ship the goods to me due to the heavy traffic.
Fair Trade is important so that both sides walk away happy with the agreement.
